June- 1 month!

Tuesday was June's one month mark of life. She passed through it the usual way- sleeping, eating, crying, playing. It was un-eventful, but today, we went to the doctor and weighed her. She has gained 1 1/2 pounds in two weeks! (She weighs 8.4) Way to go June! The average is 6-8oz a week, so she is doing great.

Last week, my mom and Gramom came to visit and we took a picture of the four generations together! June was not really liking picture-hour, so she does not have her best face on, but that's ok!
So, not much else. We are just living each day as it comes and learning as we go. Meanwhile, June is sleeping through her early days, which I am very thankful for!

Change!

Well....the super-efficiency of my life has been slightly, ok MAJORLY interrupted! No longer can I get things done quickly or zip around and do 50 things at once. Those days are over! I have slowly come to terms with this realization in the last three weeks and am now working on adjusting to this extreme change.

What a sweet, tiny blessing little June is! She came pre-programmed with many demands that she seems to understand quite thoroughly, but cannot seem to communicate with us, except by crying. Its been a challenge, but a wonderful experience all at the same time. I really don't know how to describe it, except we were not prepared AT ALL! Dan has been wonderful with everything and has to be the most helpful daddy ever! He is a diaper-changing genius and so good at swaddling! I have slowly been recovering and getting my strength back, but am working on encompassing more duties in the next few weeks.

We could never have imagined that she would bring such frustration and joy all at the same moments and we relish in her tiny features and loud voice and just count ourselves lucky to be given the gift of raising her as one of the Lord's children. All in all, we are adjusting to a new life that the Lord has prepared for us and learning to live as a little family of 6 now!

Hey June!

After about a week of c-section recovery (one more week to go until back to normal) with lots and lots of help from my mom, Dan and various family members who have come through, I am up for doing a little blogging. Here are some adorable pictures of our sweet little girl that we are so blessed to have received.
She is truly a unique little creation and we are awed every day at everything about her. I have to admit that when she came out, I was slightly shocked by all her black hair.
For some reason, I just thought she would look more like me, but she is too cute and we just love everything about her! Here she is in her first Texas Tech outfit matching with daddy and then with me after her first bath that she loved! She sleeps non-stop and things have transitioned smoothly with mom here to help so much.
What a wonderful blessing from the Lord...
