June's room - fine'

I asked Meuf Te' and she said that is most certainly how you say finished in french. And her being a fan of Marie Antoinette (being named after her very own dog), she would definitely know!
One way or another, June's room is done. And as you can see, no June.... We just received her bedding in the mail and put it on her crib and there is nothing left to do. Just endlessly, wait, trying to focus each day on our last days together alone- which by the way, we are so thankful for! But I do have to admit, that it is somewhat tiring this waiting. I suppose it is just one more chance for the Lord to teach me patience- I don't think I have still quite mastered it...

So, here is her cute little crib. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend and hopefully June will be here next time I write!

Hello June? You are missing your birthday!!

So, today is little June's birthday and she is missing it- if she is anything like me, I would think she would be pretty disappointed to miss out on some spotlight time, but maybe she will be more like her dad and content to just be herself not always vying for attention :)

Regardless, I am getting a little ansy that she is not here yet and Dan has felt that way for the past two months! So, a slightly unhappy un-birthday :( But soon!

Valentine Zoo

Dan is so sweet and this year decided to start Valentine's Day early because who knows if we will make it till then since I am due in (ahh!) 5 days! (But, I am thinking I am going to be late- just a little side note). So, his first part of Valentine's Day was a surprise trip to the zoo!! It was a nice rainy and cold afternoon and we both finished work and took off to the zoo which is right by us! Here are a few of the animals we saw. Dan loved the reptiles- so weird and gross!

I loved the monkey who I threw one of my candy hearts to and Dan (anal rule-follower) got so mad that I was dis-obeying the no feeding sign that he wouldn't take a picture of me with him! You will just have to imagine... He was my favorite and he LOVED my candy heart and disected it just a few feet away from me- he was adorable! I told Dan that we have to get one but he said they catch their own feces and throw it at you, so that sounded alot worse to clean up than Vern's hair....

Anyway, annoyingly, you will just have to see me next to boring old Mr. Stork. He was pretty cute and old, but Dan was in charge of the camera, or else I would have had a picture with Jewish Marcel the Monkey, who looked like he had a yamakuh on!

Anyways, a wonderful pre- Valentine's present and one of the few last times with just the two of us! Although after, we were pretty sad about all the animals having to be caged up. They were NOT very happy guys and just paced and paced in their cages. :(

The others

I hear from many people that once the baby comes, the pets fall to the wayside. Now, I absolutely do not think that will happen with us (well maybe with Vern...), but just in case, they get pushed aside for the first few weeks of adjustment (or kidnapped as Dan believes their is a conspiracy against Vern from my family), I thought I would dedicate a little post to their adorableness and how much wonderful company they give me every day!

Below is my precious little shadow, Meuf Te' who I know will be up with me every night during feedings and will lay at my feet and follow me everywhere I go. She will love June just as much as I do and retain her eternal devotion to me forever! Hopefully.... She is wonderful and is my constant companion. I just can't get enough of how cute she is :)

And then we have Vern... I don't have much to say about him, except he is cute when he is laying down.... The rest of the day, he waits for and then barks at the mailman, chases Meuf Te' and Zeus, or whines to go on a walk or play with his ball....maybe just the terrible twos?

And last, we have faithful old Zeus, who is now about 7 years old! He lays on every piece of furniture in the house or lays outside in the monkey grass and jumps out and scares whoever walks up the walkway. When we are not home for long periods of time, he gets mad and throws up on Dan's clothes. He is such a character and still gets in bed with us at night for a few minutes before we go to sleep!

So, there you have it: the post dedicated to our dear animals who will always be my children even when I have many real human ones. They have kept me company for so long, especially Zeus and I would never toss them out, as some might think!

4:30am

I know many of you are wondering what takes place in the SuDan household at 4:30am. So, last night, I decided to get out of bed and document. This is usually a weekly occurrence and aren't you lucky- last night happened to be the night.

4:30am - vicious barking and trying to break through the window from this guy below signaling to us that the house must be on fire and we must all vacate immediately taking our most valuable possessions. I jerk up in bed wondering what possessions I should take (you think I would know by now, but it catches me off guard every time!) and see that Dan's most valuable possession is his shotgun and he is already starting to patroll with it. Then, reality kicks in and I realize it is only our weekly visitor who so wants to join our family come to visit again. I am about to angrily roll over and go back to sleep when I decide to take yall along and document:

(don't let the face fool you. He had already been banished to the bathroom by the time I got up so no good vicious picture)

So, our weekly visitor is Mr. Raccoon. I wish I could include a picture of him but he preferred to remain faceless for the time being. Mr. Raccoon for some reason decided about 6 months ago that he wanted to be part of our family, literally. He tries every week to get closer and closer to the house and just wants to come in and get some love. We have traps out but he is just too smart. And maybe I would consider an application, but he only comes at 4:30am, so I do not welcome his intrusion! Mr. Raccoon- we don't want you, can you not take a hint?!

So, Dan has resorted to shooting at Mr. Raccoon. The frustrating thing is, he has never hit him, possibly having to do something with him having limited amounts of clothes on. Well, last night was a new scenario- Mr. Raccoon finally got enough guts to approach the front door. Of course, Vern sniffed him out, gave us the fire alarm, and Dan grabs his gun, does his reconnaissance and runs out the front door this time, sans pants! But I had to crop that part, Dan would not let it appear for all of you fine readers...

After much searching; of course, Mr. Raccoon had abandoned his desire to come in. The nerve! Dan has forgotten he does not have pants on and is still searching for him, but decides to come back in and put the gun down until next week when we run this whole (exciting to the two boys) charade again!

I'll spare you the angry pictures of myself. But now you know what SuDan does at 4:30am :)
