Where does summer go?

Goodness! Life has moved fast these last few months.  Sayed is in the middle of driver's ed and has started school.  He is running cross country and is all over the place.  Dan and I are shuttling him from place to place desperately looking for someone to carpool with to relieve some of the responsibility.  Nothing yet...
That is going to need to change though when Baby #3 comes in the next 10 days- hopefully a little sooner because my superman doctor is going out of town on the 19th and I need to have already had her!  Ideally, she will be here sometime next week- NOT this weekend because Dan and my parents will be out of town and I really don't want Sayed taking me to the hospital.... ;)

Dan and Sayed are still dorking it up in their men's soccer league pretty much made up by many members of my family and a guy from Nigeria (picked up for his obvious athletic skills ;)

Annie is almost walking.  She walks some and when she realizes she is walking, she sits down.  So, any day now!  And June had her first day back to Mother's Day Out.  No crying or sadness or anything.  She likes it this year- yay!!

Clif's adorable fiance from Columbia, Mariana, just became a US citizen (on her own, not through marriage) and we are so happy for her!  They get married the beginning of June- can't wait!

So, probably next time I write, Rose will be here.  Can't wait to be a family of five!!! (or six if you count Sayed) (or seven if you count Harry) (or 14 if you count all the animals)  But who's counting?! :)

Oh the days...

Here is just a quick update of the recent happenings that have been going on.  Are you on instagram?  If not, you are totally missing out; if you are, then I am sorry for a repeat of all these pictures, but everything is moving fast now with only six weeks left until baby girl #3- AGH!  Can you imagine adding another to this story reading?

I have had major nesting fever lately and even set up her little portacrib in our room today.  PLEASE tell me that does not mean she is coming early.  Annie is almost walking (hooray!) and should be within the next few weeks.  I am working on transitioning her bottle to a sippy cup so that if the baby did happen to come early, we wouldn't be stuck feeding two babies a bottle at 7am.

BUT, I do feel that I have a much better grasp on the transition this baby will bring.  I did NOT with Annie and was in a shocked daze for oh, about four months, but I think this time around will be better.

We have been out of town alot lately, hence the no posting.  Here are a few pics from fourth of July, time at the lake and just hanging out with Grandpa.

When we have been at home, I have been trying to focus on getting my work done and teaching June how to play by herself while I work.  She is learning fast and hopefully that will lead to Annie being able to play on her own or with June and not need me.  Although, I can already feel the guilt setting in that Annie will get 11 months of being the baby and then will be forced into the middle child role for a little while with not much attention... :(

In the meantime, we are almost done with our backhouse for Harry to move into and our garden house to store bikes and strollers, etc.  We had a foam company foam it, which was super exciting for Dan since he used to do foam, and we are on the way to a house with a tenant/grandfather!

Happy last month of summer :)

Happenings

So, blogging has obviously not been a priority of mine lately.  Just so much going on.  I think that is usually how summer is.  Its supposed to be this relaxing time, but you end up going on vacations (Dan calls them trips because they are not relaxing) and are just always on the go, that summer is a hurried blur....
Dan and Harry, our contractor/soon to be renter/built in pseudo-grandfather have been building a garden house (Harry said we can no longer call it a garden shed because the plans I came up with are too grandiose for a shed ;) to store our stuff (and to be used as a futureplay house for the girls) so that Harry can remodel our garage/backhouse and live in it.  Here are the first stages of the garden house.  Finished product hopefully to come soon:
Sayed came back to the US (hopefully for good) this week and Dan, Annie and I just got back from my company trip in Lexington, KY where we had our 5 years anniversary and got to stay with my mom's sister and family.
June and Annie are great as usual.  June flew to the lake with my parents while we were in Kentucky and Annie had some sleep deprivation on all our Southwest flights to and from Lexington.
Meanwhile, this is now what a typical morning looks like over coffee in the SuDan household.  Just add baby girl #3 and we will be full for the time being. :)

Getting back into the swing....

Apparently, because I discovered I was back a month ago, I decided to do all the fun stuff I had missed out on the last six months.  I read a few books, caught up on my bird watching and identifying, and planted alot of flowers and worked in the yard.

So, now I am back to my blogging, I guess, and here to write more posts about life.  Plus, it has been a beautiful April here and we have been outside just hanging out so much!  Annie is sitting up and June is running around being crazy.

We almost moved to North Carolina, then Atlanta, and then decided on here, at least until January 2013, when we will think about it when Dan's company approaches us again.

Life is a little crazy.  Still waiting to here about Sayed.  We should know by the end of May - that is taking forever to find out.  I guess the US government has alot of checking up to do on him...

We find out Friday if we are having a boy or girl in September- I think this is the most excited I have been to find out the sex of our babies.  I don't know why.  We would like to keep on the girl track.  We are good with that right now, but switching it up with a boy would be fun too.  So, all room decorating and arrangements hinge on Sayed and the sex of the new baby.
Anyway, there you have a recap of what I missed posting over the last few weeks.  I'll write soon on the sex of the baby and the horrible, hideous moth epidemic that is happening here right now. UGH!  They are my least favorite bug....

Until then- ta ta!

Cowtown Marathon

This weekend, we made a quick trip to Ft Worth for Dan to run in the Cowtown Half Marathon with some of our San Antonio friends.  The girls stayed with my parents at the lake and we had one night and day to ourselves.

For some reason, on our one day off, we got up at 5:45am so Dan and everyone else could run- no break or sleep!   Here are the SA girls and me :)

Anyway, the Cowtown has ZERO spectators.  Dan, Bert and Julia, Laura, and Courtney ran the half.  David (Courtney's husband), Otto (Julia and Bert's 3 month old) and I went to spectate and cheer everyone on at mile 4 and 10.  At mile, 4- zero spectators, so i had to pull out some old cheerleading jumps and superstar movements a la Mary Catherine Gallagher.  I felt very sorry for all the runners getting no support and I thought they needed a little comedic interlude, therefore I pointed at specific runners looking downtrodden and yelled at them that they were awesome.  This went over well.  Fortunately, there are no pictures of this, as I injured my hip from jumping around since the last time I did cheerleading jumps was in high school in 2000.  We were able to find all five of our runners and cheer them on- good success!
Then, after feeding Otto in the car, racing across town (only one mile but everything was blocked off, so big detour), we made it to mile ten right when Dan was running by.  Perfect!  I did a half jump I had been saving for him since my hip was injured and then we yelled for everyone again because again, zero spectators.  Our best line was "We are not married and this is not our baby!"  We felt this was necessary because everyone kept telling me I looked pretty good after having this little infant (I took the compliments for awhile because I did have a baby a while back, just not a three month old) and then people were admiring our motley little family that did not go together.  Again, the runners were pretty bored with no spectators, so we were interesting relief.  Our yell got some laughs which we felt equaled successful encouragement and then I reverted back to my "you are awesome" point and yells.

All in all, a success.  Dan didn't train at all and he ran a better time than the Ok City marathon.  We were very proud!  Fun weekend!

Popo and Pictures

If you pay attention to details, you may have noticed that Popo's name was removed from the title of our blog.  The sweet little frog came and left in a few weeks and has gone to take a dirt nap.  At least that is what we told June since we are not sure she understands dying/death and all sad things like that.  Not to fear though, Dan made her a picture of Popo's "napping" place and she re-named Vitamins - Popo.  Hmm, well I guess that means I should technically leave Popo's name in the blog title but I will think about that later.  For now, we are one less frog, but still have "The fish formerly known as Vitamins" going strong.

A few days ago, we tried to take some Christmas card pictures with all of our family members which didn't go so well.  Zeus absolutely refused to participate and the chickens, for some reason, would not eat the treats I gave them to stay in the picture.
Dan was super stressed by all the activity and I was ordering everyone around/picking animals up to make them stay in the pic - you can sense Vern's annoyance....
So, this one is ok, except for Meuf Te' itching to try and get to the chicken poop - yuck! and June not looking... but you will have to wait for the finished product in your mailbox!
Oh, the anticipation... ;)

Uncle Love

June has been loving some uncle time lately. Two of her uncles (well, my cousins) are currently in town and have been hanging out with us over at the parental's casa. Every day, she yells- Chappy! and Bobby! all day long, looking for them, and making them play with her anytime they are around.
But, they are more than happy to comply and give her all the attention she needs when I am trying to get some work done. We will be sad to see them go in a few weeks....

Whirlwind fun

So I mentioned our crazy last two weeks. I will briefly relay our events and then leave you to ponder, because I can't think of anything clever at the moment.

We started off the last two weeks with a trip to San Francisco for Dan's cousin's wedding. Absolutely beautiful and SO fun and active with the coast, wineries, redwood forest and bike riding across the golden gate bridge (with Dan wearing his dorky bike helmet EVERYwhere) all in two days! We would live there in a heartbeat if a billion things ever lined up (but they won't-so don't worry, no more moves anytime soon!!)
Then, Sayed left :( . See previous post.

Then, I spent four days packing up the entire house while Dan was out of town (very convenient for him! ;) - no pictures of frantic packing, chasing June, and trying to catch the chickens every night before bed (that was Sayed's job!)

Then, on to my wonderful cousin's Jennie's wedding (and bridesmaids' luncheon)- we LOVE her new husband and the wedding was amazing! June was a darling little flower girl- hope to see a video of that soon because I was a bridesmaid and walked with her....
Then, on to San Antonio for a baby shower for little Annie (yes, that is what we are naming the next addition) thrown and attended by my fantastic Mahncke Park friends. We all worked on a quilt- it was SO fun- Courtney traced little fairies on the squares and everyone sewed their own. Then, she will make it all into a quilt- amazing!
THEN, the move! More stress, chickens, dogs, Zeus, boxes, u-hauls, late nights, and the satisfaction of it finally all being over!

And last, the Fourth of July- our first in Lubbock! There was actually a cute little parade and festival.
So, there you have it. The bare facts, none of the usual embellishments, but that's ok. I will be back to my usual self in the next few weeks when everything settles down again....
